Play

Click a card to play it.

Bidding

In 3D Card games that have bidding, the Bid Picker will appear when it is your turn to bid. Click the number you wish to bid. You can also type in a number in solo games.

Passing

In 3D Card games that pass cards, a Pass Button will appear when passing. Click the cards you want to pass, and then click the Pass button. If you change your mind, you can click one of the chosen pass card to put it back in your hand.

Picking Trump

In 3D Card games that require selecting trump, a Trump Picker will appear when needed. Click the suit you wish to make trump.

Special Extras

Click the Score Pad in the lower left of the table to open the Score Pad window, which shows the score, bidding, and other useful game information.

Click the Cup in the lower right of the table to tell the computer to Auto Play the hand for you in solo games.



GameSmith Play

If you are connected to GameSmith and actively playing a game with others online, then you can chat via the edit field at the bottom of the game window.

To the right of the chat line is an Emoticon Menu Button: clicking it causes your puppet to smile, frown, etc.

To the right of the emoticon button is the Puppet Menu. The Puppet Menu shows you your current regular puppet, or an iPuppet with your image overlayed.

Clicking the Puppet Menu lets you choose a picture from a file, or paste one in from the clipboard. It also has options for switching to recently used pictures, or pictures from the iPuppet Images folder.

Displays the startup screen; click the screen to dismiss it.

Preferences

Opens a dialog for setting all of the game’s interface preferences. See Preferences Dialog for more information.

Quit and Open

This will quit your current game and allow you to switch to another of the 3D Deluxe games without having to go back to Finder. If you are connected to GameSmith, Quit and Open will automatically reconnect you upon launching the new game.

Quit

Quits the game.

New Solo Game

Begins a new solo game with the current rules and possibly random puppets.

Restart Solo Game

Begins a new solo game with the current puppets.

Close

Closes windows that have a close box (e.g., the network window).

Boss Coming

Will quickly stop the music and hide the game under a progress bar. More for amusement then to really trick your Boss while playing at work, or at least that’s what we tell our Boss!

Undo

If possible, will undo the last trick of the hand. You cannot undo past the first trick of any specific hand.

Copy

Copy will place an image of the tabletop on the clipboard, unless the Score Pad or Help window has text selected, in which case the selected text will be placed on the clipboard.

Rules

Opens a dialog for setting all of the game options. See Rules Dialog for more info.

Puppets

Opens a dialog for selecting and arranging puppet and human players. See Puppets Dialog for more info.

Location

Allows you to choose a location in which to play.

View

Provides some subtle variety within each location.

Solo Stats

Opens a dialog that displays the number of games played, won and lost.

Show/Hide Score Pad

Opens the Score Pad window.

Show/Hide Scoreboard

Shows a small scoreboard directly in the game window.

Show/Hide Last Trick

Shows the last trick played, if available.

Tutor

When this is selected, the game will attempt to assist you in playing intelligently. Optionally, you can leave this turned off and then press the question mark (?) or spacebar during game play to get a hint for one turn only.

Telepathy

When this item is checked, clicking the mouse on your opponents’ heads will open up a window into their thoughts. This feature is provided for its curiosity value, and to add realism for those of us lucky enough to be able to read minds normally.

Connect/Disconnect

Allows you to connect to GameSmith, where you can join or host games with other live players. Once connected, this item changes to Disconnect.

Get Info

Opens either Player Info or Game Info, depending on which is selected in the GameSmith window.

Join Game

Joins the game currently selected in GameSmith’s game list.

Host Game

Opens a dialog where you can host a new game that others can join.

End Game

Ends the current game you are playing. In network games, this will return you to GameSmith.

Restart Game

When you are the host of a network game, you can elect to restart the game with this menu item. In solo games, restarting won’t randomize any of the puppets nor the location, even if those options are enabled.

Resign

After five hands, if you are losing you can choose to resign the game. Other players will be asked to agree.

Add Player

The host can use this to add computer players. The host can also use the Puppets dialog to do this.

Remove Player

The host can use this to remove human or computer players.

Shuffle Player Seats

The host can use this to shuffle player seats randomly.

Show GameSmith

Opens the GameSmith window so you can chat with other people.
